5 teaspoons (or 2 packets) of active dry yeast
1.5 cups warm water
1 teaspoon sugar
4-5 cups flour
2 large cloves garlic, crushed or diced
1 tablespoon basil
1 tablespoon parsley
vegan butter, optional
Directions
- In a mixing bowl, combine yeast, water, and sugar. Mix well.
- Add 2 cups of flour to the bowl and mix. Stir in garlic, basil, and parsley.
- Add 2 more cups of flour and mix. Add additional flour until the dough is no longer sticky.
- Pull out small handfuls of dough, shape into breadsticks, and place on a baking sheet. Rub a very thin layer of vegan butter on top of the breadsticks.
- Bake at 425 for about 10 minutes or until the bottom starts to brown.
Prep time: 5 minutes
Total time: 15 minutes
Servings: 10-20 breadsticks, depending on size
